Bannalec
Religious buildings, vestiges of the time of the megaliths and the Middle Ages… Bannalec offers a rich, remarkable and diversified heritage. Throughout your strolls you will contemplate vaults, oratories, Calvaries and fountains safeguarded and developed during the last decades.

Among the 9 marked out circuits, get on the 3 chapel circuit paths and discover Trémeur’s Chapel, Trébalay’s Chapel, the white church and for the most attentive a gallery grave.
Fancy recharging your batteries? Follow the pilgrims’ footsteps by getting on the route of Saint James of Compostella and Tro Breiz which pass through the area.
In any case, the paths will lead you in the heart of green landscapes where you can encounter rivers and rias as the rivers Isole, Aven, Ster Goz and Bélon run through the plains !
Originally
Bannalec comes from the Breton « bala » which means «broom”. The town’s name therefore means “the place where broom grows”.
